There is a program called “imtoo video to audio converter” which converts video files to mp3, or any other audio format you want.

http://www.imtoo.com/video-to-audio-converter.html
here is a tutorial on the software

http://www.imtoo.com/video-to-audio-converter/guide.html

The trial of this software only converts 3 minutes, i have a older version which converts 5 minutes,  if you would like. There is also another free program which converts as well but it gives the audio a tinny sound to it.

http://www.free-audio-editor.com/otherfreeproducts/free-video-to-audio-converter.htm

Insert the vcd into you’re computer, open imtoo video to audio and click on file, add files, then a screen will come up and you can select which file to open, if the vcd is still in you’re cd/dvd drive it will be in My Computer –> then select you’re disk drive, you are looking for a folder named MPEGAV. open that and there you can select the video files you want to convert. double click on the one you want, or press CTRL A to select all. pick you’re output folder then convert.

This is an article provided by a good friend Andrew from Australia.

Wow! Happy new year to all. Hope you will make 2010 the best year ever. I was at the New year’s party in Fresno California; it was great except for the band and the music that they played. At time, as  musicians we tend to sing and play songs that we like and not what the audiences really want.

This year I am going to be concentrating on playing Lao music that people like because this is what keeps them coming back. One thing that I have found is that it is not so much about the song but the style of music that you play. Paslop, Limborock, Talung, Offbeat, Megadance are some of the styles that many good Lao musicians neglect. Be sure to keep these styles in mind when you are playing at a party.

If you have a style that you think is the best at the moment feel free to post it in the comment section.

If you have an old Lao casio style the chance are you will need to convert it to a new format to use it. Most newer model of Casios only accept .CKT file format. The old file extension for Casio style is .CPT so you will need to convert it to .CKT which is the new casio style extension. Don’t get to hop over to the website below and check it out if you need the convert!
